Most of us are so busy with our complicated lives and schedules. Rushing around between work and kids, soccer games and multiple trips to the grocery store, dry cleaner, we rarely slow down to take in what we are really experiencing. Hence we don’t remember details, conversations, moments where we could have connected with our children, friends, coworkers. The day to day of our lives has somehow taken over who we are.
The month of Elul, a time for reflection, a time to slow down. For when we slow down, when we settle, we connect with who we really are. And we remember.
