L’Dor V’Dor Society

The L’Dor V’Dor Society was created, so that our love of Jewish life and its teachings will be preserved from generation to generation. Our legacy program ensures we pass the tradition of vitality and financial stability into our future. At TBS that future means a place where Jewish values and Jewish continuity are reinforced. Where everyone is nurtured in celebrations, community participation, Jewish Education, Social Justice and assure future generations our Jewish tomorrow.

Legacy Giving Opportunities
Letter of Intent for Temple Beth Sholom

Why the L’Dor v’Dor Society?

Our Temple exhibits a passion for Judaism and community that grows stronger every year.  In order to ensure that we are able to continue to provide a nourishing atmosphere and welcoming environment in the years to come, we need to secure Temple Beth Sholom’s future now.

Our resources are finite, and the yearly dues are simply not enough to enable us to maintain and grow our programs and services.  With that in mind the Board of Directors has enabled us to go forward in this endeavor.

I am thrilled that the Jewish Community Foundation invited us to join the “Create a Jewish Legacy Program”.  In 2013 the JCFOC was chosen to be a Community Mentor, one of 40 in North America, to be part of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s legacy program.  The Foundation programs trains local Jewish organizations to work together to build endowment funding for future generations and create a culture of legacy within the Community.  We are one of only 16 organizations in Orange County that were invited to participate.

Endowments are only one of the ways that you can financially help Temple Beth Sholom.  A gift can be planned for a future time (part of a will, trust, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, life insurance policy, and retirement plans.  Under some cases tangible personal property and real estate might also be accepted by TBS.

Cash gifts are acceptable in any form, including by check, money order, credit card, or on-line as are marketable securities.

You can designate a gift to one of the Temple’s many funds, or our Endowment program housed at the JCFOC.  There are also opportunities to name a fund  with certain restrictions.

You can be confident that the L’Dor v’Dor society will ensure that our congregation endures and prospers for future generations as a welcoming community that supports, educates and provides a spiritual home for all who come through our doors.  We want to remind you that we always strive to provide that TBS is a safe and secure environment for and that our children are able to embrace and nurture their Jewish values.

With gratitude,
