Artist – Jacob Kaufman
Interviewer – Jodi Kaufman
Jodi: Tell me a little about your drawing.
Jacob: I did it in art class at my school. It took me about 3-4 hours to make.
Jodi: What do you see when you look at the eyes in your drawing?
Jacob: It’s special, unique, one of a kind.
Jodi: Did you enjoy drawing it?
Jacob: Yes. The best part was discussing it with my friends.
Jodi: What do you think was so special about your work that got it selected to go on display at your school’s book fair at Barnes and Noble?
Jacob: The details.
Jodi: What do you want people to know about this piece?
Jacob: I want this piece to stand out. I want people to look into the eyes and see something in the eyes.
Jodi: What do you want others to think about your drawing?
Jacob: Like any other artist, I wanted people to like it even though it was made by a 5th grader. I’ve never been interviewed before.
Jacob, I absolutely love your work. The eyes are striking but the details captured me. I spent a lot of time absorbing the shapes, designs, and patterns. I hope you will continue to create more art. Thank you for sharing.
