Precious Blessings – Day 18

As the High Holy Days approach, I am keenly aware of how precious our life is. I know….everyone says that, but it takes something extraordinary to really make one appreciate the gifts we have in life. Being so sick last year has put a lot into perspective for me and gave me quite the pause, but that illness was only the catalyst for what has become my many blessings.  Those blessings come in people form. They have well hidden wings and halos but are angles none the less.  They range from the wonderful doctors who did and continue to care for me with grace, dignity and tenderness,  the many, friends who have been there every step of the way and my amazing family, whom I love dearly. Some people were in my life for only a brief moment, others are in for the long haul. Whatever the time spent together, I thank all of you for your gift of yourself. I was singing in choir practice the other day, praising G-od and realizing how truly blessed I am to not only be here on earth, but to be with all of you incredible angels!

Denise, I didn’t know you had been sick. I’m so glad you’re better. You are one of those people who spreads sunshine to others. I hope next year is much better!!
