Feeding our Mind:
“Covenant, Courage and Commitment”
How do we deal with life’s challenges and disappointments — personally, professionally and communally? Judaism has much to teach us about living effectively and meaningfully in the face of adversity and in an uncertain world and those teachings are at the heart of the Covenant that we celebrate and renew at this season of Shavuot. Together we will explore wisdom passed down to us from the TaNaKh, the Talmud, modern Jewish thinkers and Jewish literature about living life fully in a less-than-perfect world.
You will have the opportunity to choose two of the following sessions:
- The TaNaKh/The Megillah of Ruth — Strength to meet life on its own terms. How to deal with personal difficulties in life. Rabbi Heidi Cohen
- The Talmud — From destruction to renewal. Rabbinic responses to the destruction of the Temple. Rabbi Shelton Donnell
- Jewish Thought — Out of the darkness. Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, and the response to evil. Wendy Bocarsky
- Jewish Literature — Finding meaning in Uncertainty. Soni Sanberg
