Yom Kippur is time when we dedicate our mind, body, and soul to reconciliation with our fellow human beings, ourselves, and God. As this New Year begins, we should be dedicated to self-reflection and inner change. We ask for forgiveness from others and we are commanded to forgive those who may have offended us. Only then can we turn to God and ask for forgiveness. We read in our liturgy, “And for all these, God of forgiveness, forgive us, pardon us, and grant us atonement.”

Let us take stock and commit ourselves to repair what is flawed, enhance what is righteous, and create new opportunities for goodness. This is a time of repentance, forgiveness, atonement, renewal, and a wonderful opportunity for growth through enrichment.

Once again, services will be brought to you, your family and friends via streaming video to assure all our congregants’ and staff’s health and safety.

Cantor David Reinwald will conduct the streaming service from our sanctuary and our Rabbi Emeritus, Shelton Donnell will join us with sermons and readings from Portland, Oregon’s historic Congregation Beth Israel.
